attribute
With HTML tags, an attribute is a criteria or specification
associated with a specific tag. A tag for placing graphics within a document
would include attributes specifying the source and placement of the image
on the page.
Some attributes are required, some optional. Some attributes require special
values (e.g., SOURCE or HEIGHT), others are simply present or absent
(e.g., ISMAP, indicating the presence of a clickable image map).
